Man admits four killings

13 April 2012

A former binman today admitted responsibility for killing twin sisters and an elderly couple.

Lawyers for Mark Hobson, 34, made the admission as he appeared for a hearing at Teesside Crown Court.

Hobson, of New Lane, Selby, is charged with killing his girlfriend Claire Sanderson and her sister Diane, along with pensioners James and Joan Britton.
Hobson has yet to enter formal pleas.

Hobson, who was dressed in a dark suit, kept his head bowed during the 20 minute hearing. Two security officers were present with him in the glass-fronted dock.

Relatives of the four victims sat in the jury-box while Mr Richardson addressed the court.
