Londoners will have a spring in their step this weekend as the capital is predicted to be as hot as parts of Greece and Spain.

Forecasters have predicted temperatures to increase to 15C.

The Met Office said it will be dry with long sunny spells on Saturday but tempered by a stiff northeasterly breeze moving into Sunday.

A forecaster told the Standard: "There will be a bright start to tomorrow with temperatures rising to around 15C, even 16C but it will be breezy and not as warm as other places in the country, nevertheless, a fine day.

"It will be the same for Sunday, with more cloud around and temperatures may be a degree lower. However it won't make a difference. It will be a dry, fine weekend."

Mostly dry and bright, clouds will start to form on Monday with the odd spot of drizzle and a slight drop in temperature.

It is expected to be wet and cloudy next week with temperatures rising again to 15C.
