Kensington residents object to lapdance bar

Evening Standard13 April 2012

Plans to open a lapdancing club in a residential area have enraged householders.

More than 60 people have so far signed a petition against the planned club above a former pub, The Fox, in North End Crescent.

Resident Rachel Marlow said: "Thinking about something like this at the top of my road makes me feel physically sick. We have two primary schools, nurseries and a library in this area and it is just the wrong location."

But licence holder David Moynihan claims the club, to be called The Kensington Suite, will be "elegant rather than decadent" and enhance the area after a £2 million refurbishment.

He said: "It will be a very controlled and secure adult environment."
