Iraq oil exports to hit pre-war levels

IRAQI oil exports are expected to hit pre-war levels by March, according to an Iraqi Governing Council official. Pre-war production was about 2.6m barrels a day, with 2.1m barrels exported. Current exports are estimated to be about 1m barrels a day.

The recovery in exports has been slower than expected, mainly because of attacks on pipelines and oil installations.
