Half 'cannot live without mobile'

Losing a mobile phone would be like a bereavement for almost half of young people.

Researchers found that 46 per cent of 25 to 34-year-olds said they could not live without their mobile.

Michael Hulme, of Henley Management College, said: 'There is increased dependency on mobile phones - not just in practical terms, but in an emotional sense.

'People use their phone to improve their everyday experience of life.'
