Grim view of M-way services

Motorway service stations with "shabby" surroundings and "tired" food were criticised in a report published today by Good Housekeeping.

Abby Jones, the magazine's motoring editor, visited seven UK sites at random. Fleet Services on the M3 in Hampshire, operated by Welcome Break, scored only one out of five. The food was described as "terrible".

Medway Services on the M2 in Kent, operated by Moto, got only one point. But the best with four points was Moto's Reading Services on the M4 in Berkshire, congratulated for its food, play areas - and refreshments for dogs.
