Dutch fat cat bows to pay critics

DUTCH shoppers who boycotted stores run by Royal Ahold chief executive Anders Moberg in protest at his fat-cat pay celebrated today as he gave up his fixed bonus and guaranteed severance package worth e3m (£2.1m).

Sales at Albert Heijn, Holland's largest grocery chain and part of Royal Ahold, suffered dramatically as shoppers used rival retailers.
