Diplomat sued for 'exploiting maid'

India's Consul General in New York is being sued after he allegedly exploited an illiterate maid, forcing her to work 15-hour days for about £43 a week.

Santosh Bhardwaj, 45, claims she was a victim of "coercion and exploitation" and that the diplomat, Prabhu Dayal, made a "sexual advance" to her.

Mr Dayal's lawyer dismissed the suit as a "get- rich-quick scheme".
