Dignity of carjack victim's girlfriend

Danielle Gusmaroli12 April 2012

Pale, dignified and with her head bowed throughout, the girlfriend of Battersea carjack killing victim Tim Robinson attended a thanksgiving service for his life today.

Student teacher Jemma Joyce, 26, who was there when the 25-year-old estate agent was stabbed, joined 350 friends and family at Beaulieu Abbey, Hants for the 50-minute service.

They all wore colourful clothes. Mr Robinson's family said he was known for his exuberance, and wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Yellow signs reading "Tim's Celebration" marked the path to the Abbey in the area where he grew up.

Mr Robinson died in hospital on Wednesday last week, three days after he was attacked outside his home in Warriner Gardens. He got out of his £30,000 Audi to give two men directions but they stabbed him in the head, chest and arms. Police believe they had intended to take his car.

His body is being held while police inquiries continue. Three teenagers arrested over the killing have been released on bail.
