It is not quite Minority Report - but scientists think they will soon be able to predict crime.
Computers used to forecast weather may allow police to predict which offences will be committed in any area. Expert Don Brown said spotting trends would help police focus resources.
He added: 'The results will be secret. If people can change the outcome by changing their behaviour, they will.' In Minority Report, starring Tom Cruise, psychics revealed crimes in advance.
