Crossing man 'hit twice by bus'

Sarah Limbrick12 April 2012

An elderly pedestrian who lost a leg after he was twice run over by a bus is claiming £300,000 in compensation.

Edwin George, 88, from Wembley, was hit by a double-decker on a pedestrian crossing in College Road in Harrow, according to a High Court writ. Surgeons amputated his right leg and he may lose his left foot too.

He is demanding damages from bus operator Arriva The Shires and the driver, Mannivald Himma, who he claims failed to keep a proper look-out before the accident in December last year. The writ was issued by Sarmad Gassoub of Bolt Burdon Kemp.
