Councils save £1m in job sharing deal

Councils across the capital should combine services to save money as the cuts continue to bite, a town hall leader responsible for initiating a three-borough partnership said today.

Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea councils launched an ambitious project to share services one year ago.

The councils today revealed they have made nearly £1 million savings and Westminster's leader Colin Barrow said it was "one of the least painful ways to preserve public services in a time of austerity".
