Conductor's suicide file is sent to DPP

The investigation into the deaths of an eminent conductor and his wife at a Swiss suicide clinic will be referred to Britain's top prosecutor.

Former BBC Philharmonic conductor Sir Edward Downes and his wife Joan travelled to a clinic run by Dignitas this month.

The Met is investigating and today Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer said he would be briefed before a decision is made on whether to bring any charges against their son Caractacus and daughter Boudicca who were present at their deaths.
