Community culture on Olympics starting block

Hanna Mills12 April 2012

Street table tennis, fishing from an old library van and a creative running club will harness the competitive spirit this summer in the five London Olympic boroughs.

The unusual events are part of Create10, which will celebrate the "cultural richness, unique character and communities" of the areas over six weeks. Established artists Tracey Emin, Rachel Whiteread and Gavin Turk will show their work.

The events run from June 19 until August 1 in the boroughs of Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
