Chohan murder: new arrest

A key suspect in the hunt for the killers of a millionaire London businessman and his entire family was arrested today.

Kenneth Regan, 54, was held in Belgium after one of the most intense manhunts ever mounted by Scotland Yard.

The search began in February when businessman Amarjit Chohan disappeared with his wife, two children and mother-in-law from their west London home.

Mr Chohan, 46, who owned a fruit and vegetable importing firm, was thought to have been murdered by business rivals who wanted to take over his £4million company, Chiba Freight Services.

His wife Nancy, their two children, Ravinder and Devinder and his motherinlaw Charanjit Kaur all vanished from their £1million house in Heston.

Mr Chohan's body was found in the sea off the Dorset coast near Bournemouth on 22 April. The body of his 25-year-old wife was also discovered of f Bournemouth last month.

Police are still searching for twoyearold Ravinder and one-year-old Devinder and Mrs Kaur, 51. Officers started an international hunt for Regan, a former haulage company owner, and another man, William Horncy, who were believed to have gone abroad.

Horncy, a former accountant, is thought to be living under the alias of William Smith.

Regan, from Salisbury, and Horncy, from Bournemouth, were seen boarding a ferry from Dover in April and did not return.

Peter Rees, 38, of Portsmouth, has been charged with the murders of Mr Chohan, his wife, their children and Charanjit Kaur.
