Celebrities raise £35,000 for breast cancer fund
CELEBRITIES have helped raise nearly £35,000 for a breast cancer charity at a photography auction.
The event at the Music Room last night raised money for the Lavender Trust, which helps younger women with breast cancer, and featured pictures from the Renaissance Photography Competition.
The competition, now in its second year, received more than 2,500 entries from all over the world. The event in Mayfair was attended by singer Lulu and model Lisa Snowdon, and comedian David Mitchell hosted the auction.
The photography competition was launched by Fiona Gifford, a 35-year-old lawyer and amateur photographer from London who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006.
She said: "Photographs allow us to reconnect with the feelings of our past, and can be a source of inspiration and strength during times of adversity."
