Bosses keep best pension schemes

MORE than half of company directors who have closed final- salary pension schemes to new staff are holding on to their own generous retirement provisions, research claims today.

The TUC found that 70.5% of directors at 121 of the UK's biggest firms still have final-salary schemes even though 47% of firms have shut them to new staff.

The Pension Watch report also found that 58% of the firms which have closed the schemes still allowed new directors to join them.
