BMW raiders tie up couple

Justin Davenport12 April 2012

Raiders ambushed a couple and tied them up as they arrived home with their five-week-old baby, before driving off in their BMW.

Detectives believe the couple may have been targeted late last night for their £35,000 vehicle in the latest twist to the carjacking and car theft spate sweeping London.

The gang of between five and eight white men in balaclavas were ransacking the house in St George's Road, Twickenham, when the couple, in their thirties, returned with their son. The thieves threatened the couple with baseball bats before grabbing watches, jewellery, TV sets and CD players and fleeing.

Police said the man suffered minor cuts and bruises but the mother and baby weren't harmed. Anyone with information should call Twickenham CID on 020 8247 7031, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
