Beyonce's a dummy diva

Beyonce or the waxwork?
13 April 2012

Booty-shaking Beyonce was unveiled as the latest waxwork at Madame Tussauds today.

The Crazy In Love star posed for sculptures for three hours in the US for the £52,000 waxwork.

Beyonce stands alongside fellow singers Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears for the new Divas show.

Visitors to the attraction are able to get up on stage and give their best Kylie, Britney or Beyonce performance.

A "Divaometer" measures audience reaction and tells them whether their performance was "desperate" or whether they deserve the ultimate accolade of being "Diva".

Beyonce saw her waxwork when it was nearly completed in London around three weeks ago.

"She said she was blown away by it, which was a relief for us," a spokeswoman said.

The waxwork of the US singer poses in one of Beyonce's energetic dance moves and a wind machine blows her hair away from her face.

She is wearing a copy of the slinky orange and pink Versace dress she donned in the Crazy In Love video.

The superstar also delivers her own judgment on the visitors' performances on the Divas stage telling them if they're bad, "come on you can do better than that" and if they're good, "where did you learn to work it like that?"

Divas opens at Madame Tussauds tomorrow and runs throughout the year.
