Baby ‘thrown into the path of bus’ by teenage girl

12 April 2012

A teenage girl allegedly threw a baby in front of a moving bus.

Seven-month-old Tavish Dabedeen escaped with minor injuries and bruising after the driver managed to stop and passers-by rushed to protect the boy.

Police have arrested a 14-year-old who allegedly snatched Tavish from the arms of his sister, 13, in an unprovoked attack at West Croydon station on July 27.

Tavish's father Rajiv, 42, told how his daughter had been bullied because she suffers from skin condition vitiligo, which affects pigmentation.

"My son could have been killed. My wife and daughter were attacked in broad daylight. Tavish is lucky to be alive. He hit his head and had bumps and bruises but he is fine," he said.

Police are still hunting the second girl.
