Alstom's former boss returns cash

FRENCH fat cat Pierre Bilger, the former chairman and chief executive of troubled engineering group Alstom, has paid back the e4.1m (£2.9m) he received as part of a severance package.

Bilger, 62, stepped down in January. He was later placed in police custody as part of a judicial investigation into a property deal in 1994.
