Veggie Pret to reopen all UK stores on June 11 – and they're doing delivery via Deliveroo

Pret a Manger’s meat-free spin off Veggie Pret has announced it will reopen all of its UK stores this week, and will offer delivery for the first time.

All 10 locations – including nine in London, and one in Manchester – will reopen their doors on June 11 for takeaway services, with seven locations offering delivery via Deliveroo.

As with all reopened Pret stores, customers are still not permitted to dine-in. Veggie Pret will also reopen with enhanced social distancing and safety measures.

The brand was first launched in 2016 as a popup on Soho’s Broadwick Street, but it has since become a permanent arm of the cafe group, catering more extensively to Pret’s vegetarian and vegan customers. Its sandwich range includes a vegan “eggless mayo” and cress baguette, a “chuna” mayo baguette and a VLT.

Deliveroo’s global director of health Tom Peter’s said, “At Deliveroo we've seen a 181 per cent increase in the number of healthy orders on the platform over the past three years and specifically an increase in demand for more plant-based options, both from our vegan customers and our customers simply wanting to cut down on their meat intake.

“The extensive Veggie Pret menu of veggie and vegan friendly items really caters to this, and we're here to deliver it to customers' doors in London and Manchester.”

This week will also see more regular Pret stores reopen across the country. From today, stores inside several train stations will reopen (including at King’s Cross), while Pret locations inside shopping centres will begin to open their doors from June 15.

To date, Pret has reopened more than 300 locations across the country since lockdown began at the end of March.
