Rum cocktails get a shake-up

10 April 2012

Slippery Nipples, Sex on the Beach and Fuzzy Navels are so old hat - that's why Bacardi went on a four-month London-wide hunt to find a new cocktail that would get drinkers in the mood.

Over 100 bars and mixologists were selected to create a 'Capital Cocktail' ousing Bacardi as the main ingredient. These cocktails were then added to the drinks menu of the bar for one month and the public were invited to vote for their favourite.

What a terrible job it must have been for the judges to whittle down the 100 entries to just eight and then to go on and pick an eventual winner!

The winning cocktail came from Soho's Six Degrees bar and was called Six Degrees of Sun. If you're wondering what it tastes like, why not use the recipe below and shake one up tonight?
