Other restaurants with strange names

This French (ish) bistro would be unremarkable were it not for the fact that for more than a decade they have never set any prices. When you have eaten you are invited to leave whatever you think the meal was worth. Apparently, London diners tend to play fair. You'll end up parting with about £60 for a meal for two with wine. Probably!

Six and 13 are significant numbers for the Jewish faith and here they stand for " kosherfusion" food. The aim is to bring a breath of modern gastronomy to classic Jewish dishes without breaking the dietary laws. A meal for two with kosher wine is about £70.

As with Laughing Gravy, Pug is named after a dog. Hogarth's dog, to be precise. This Pug is an unpretentious eating place. A meal for two with modest wine around £60.

Like Teatro in Soho, this North African cafe-restaurantbar is owned by Lee Chapman and Lesley Ash, and the food is better than the punny name! A light meal for two with drinks is about £40.

Although at first sight merely an eye-grabbing name, when you eat at this Soho establishment you find that it is a simple description. There is garlic in every course, including the dessert, and an awesome array of dangerous drinks. A meal for two with seethrough drinks is about £50.
