A cheese afternoon tea is coming to London, and you’d better brie-lieve it

Imagine it. A decadent three-tiered selection of cheese and cheese dishes, prettily presented for you to guzzle with abandon of an afternoon.

Now stop imagining. A cheese afternoon tea is coming to London, making those hedonistic visions a reality.

Pimlico’s Georgian House, a boutique bed and breakfast not far from Victoria Station, has dreamt up the indulgence and will start serving it on July 22.

It will feature savoury dishes including a smoked cheddar Welsh rarebit and sheep’s milk, ‘nduja & roasted pepper sandwiches, followed by cheddar and thyme scones with apple and chutney. Sweet treats to finish will include ricotta with whisky-soaked apricots, toasted almonds and honey, along with a wine-soaked blue cheese with currants and oat biscuits.

The best afternoon tea in London

It will cost £35 per person, and drinks including wine will be available to add to the tea, should you fancy something stronger than tea itself.
