Ed Wilson, co-owner of restaurants Terroirs, Brawn, Soif and the new the Green Man & French Horn, tells us where he likes eating out.

Where would you pay money to eat out? 40 Maltby Street (40 Maltby Street, SE1, 40maltbystreet.com)

Why? “I like the people simplicity of the food, quality of ingredients, the atmosphere, the conviviality of the place, it’s informal and relaxed but ultimately good fun.”

What do you eat there? “Good tripes à la mode de Caen, fantastic egg mayonnaise and anchovies, it’s so simple but done very, very well. They have excellent cheese and charcuterie too.”

Who would you take? “It’s the place where my friends and I go to meet. Every time I go I bump into someone I know.”
