Not only is today the day before the Bank Holiday begins - and along with it sunshine and the Notting Hill Carnival - it's also National Burger Day. A day when Londoners and the rest of the country are encouraged to go forth and feast on patties. Our kind of day.

If you don't fancy a night out ahead of what is probably going to be a big weekend, here are three recipes you can try at home. Whether you want a super cheesey experience or are looking for a healthier option, we have three recipes to suit every taste.

1. Camembert Beef Burger Stack

Camembert makes most things better - especially when it melts everywhere - so why not add one to your beef burger? This recipe add soft, gooey Camembert and a tangy barbecue sauce to a homemade beef burger. Can you ask for more?

2. Vegan Burger with Jack Daniel's Sauce

Burgers shouldn't be the preserve of canrnivores. This recipe uses Portobello mushrooms and black beans to give a meaty texture to a vegan burger, while a splash of Jack Daniel's sauce gives it a little kick.

3. Turkey Burger with Tomato and Avocado

Finally, burgers don't always have to be artery-clogging, calorie-packed behemoths. This recipe gives a Middle Eastern twist to the classic turkey burger with the addition of garlic, cumin and coriander. Serve with crisp salad leaves and top with creamy avocado and salsa for the full effect.
