Rooms with a view at Doggett's Riverside Bar & Terraces

Run by Nicholson's, Doggett's Riverside Bar and Terraces (to give it its full name) is the least Nicholson's-like of all their properties, being a modern (well 1980's) building rather than an ornate Victorian Gin palace.

Nevertheless, in keeping with the rest of the pubs in the chain, the full range of Nicholson's beer, wine, spirits and food is on offer here. As is only to be expected, this pub exploits its location to the full, with a variety of drinking and dining experiences arranged over four floors, all with views of the river, ranging from a roof terrace and restaurant, through to sports bar with pool tables and TV screens and a bar on the lowest floor, attracting Thames path walkers.

Doggett's prominent location attracts a vast and varied clientele and for us that's this pub's downside - despite the excellent views, the overall experience is variable, it can be mobbed, it can be deathly quiet, sometimes the beer isn't up to scratch and the service patchy. We prefer a more reliable experience.
