West End bar Grays & Feather to sell fizz from across the globe so guests can discover ‘new prosecco’

Lovely bubbly: Andrew Gray will also offer wine made in London

Prosecco could be replaced as the fizz of choice for Londoners as an abundance of international sparkling wines hit the market, according to an entrepreneur behind a new wine bar.

Andrew Gray, 31, is launching Grays & Feather, in the West End next month.

With no champagne in sight, the bar will showcase the history of other sparkling wines, and offer globally sourced vintages alongside London’s only native fizzy blend, created by Forty Hall Community Vineyard, in Enfield.

Mr Gray, who started out cleaning floors at Vinopolis, and funded the new venue himself, said: “I want guests to discover a ‘new prosecco’ for themselves.”

The bar opens on Wellington Street, Covent Garden in late September.
