Wide range of entertainment at village fete

Rising star: Singer Ben Westbeech is to perform at the Innocent Village Fete
Innocent Village Fete
Regent's Park, 4-5 August, £5 (adults) £2.50 (children), (0844 800 1950)

The popular smoothie makers are hosting their annual summer event and promise more fun and tradition than you can shake a stick at.

The weekend sees a variety of entertainment, including the age-old and much loved tug-o-war and something called 'welly-wanging', which basically means hurling a boot as far as the eye can see.

The organisers have also managed to attract up-and-coming jazz singer Ben Westbeech to perform live, while a mix of performances from unplugged bands and local theatre groups will add to what should be the ideal lazy summer's day out with the children.

All ticket profits are to be split between three chosen charities, Friends of the Earth, The Samaritans and WellChild.
