The world’s first electric cake unveiled at London Tech Week

Electric feels: Deliveroo's cake
Lizzie Thomson15 June 2018

To celebrate London Tech Week, Deliveroo unveiled the world’s first electric cake at their Tech Nation party.

Impressively, the cake in question powered its very own LED candles at the top.

The tech-savy dessert was made up of nine different cakes piled high to make one giant electrical creation.

It took crafters over 60 hours to create the self-sufficient cake and over 20kg of sugarpaste and 2kg of marzipan went into it.

The culinary masterpiece was showcased at Tech Nation's party which took place at Deliveroo’s London HQ.

The evening celebrated the expanding British tech scene and featured talent from Wonderbly, Bloom & Wild and Ziptjet - as well as the Deputy Mayor of London for Business, Rajesh Agrawal.
