Harry Potter and the Christmas feast: muggles invited to dine in Great Hall this December

The Great Hall at Hogwarts is set to open its doors to Muggles this December as it hosts a Christmas feast for two nights.

On Wednesday December 7 and Thursday December 8, Londoners headed to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Leavesden will get to indulge like Harry Potter and his school chums, and dine on the actual set where filming took place. It is the second year running the studio have hosted the supper.

The hall will be dressed for the festive season, with Christmas trees, moon and patridge-shaped baubles, flaming Christmas puddings and props from the Potter films adorning the long tables.

Following drinks and canapes, guests will enter the hall via a red carpet and then sit down for a three course meal and drinks. Pudding will be served on Platform 9 ¾.

Each guest will be given a wand – fans can choose to have a replica of Harry’s, Hermione’s, Ron’s or Professor Dumbledore’s. Those feeling brave can even opt for Lord Voldemort’s. It’s what we would do.

Following the feast, there’ll be free time explore the set and indulge on some Butterbeer.

Magical the experience may be, but cheap it is not: the evening’s entertainment comes in at a whopping £240pp. Galleons won’t be accepted. Thank goodness there’s a free cloakroom.
