Example has opened up about how miscarriage affects men as he appealed for more father's to speak out about going through the tragedy.
The rapper, real name Elliot John Gleave, touched on his personal experience after his wife Erin McNaught suffered a miscarriage a few years ago during her second pregnancy.
The couple, who married in 2013, have sons Evander, three, and six-month-old Ennio together.
Speaking on Friday’s Lorraine, Example said: “It’s that age old, almost old fashioned, ideal that men should be tougher and not show their emotions. It’s the same thing that leads us down the path with male depression, which leads to male suicide.
“Out of all my friendship group I was the first one to have kids. I didn’t really know how to deal with that. No one in my family had lost one. You just realise it’s just about opening up.”
He continued: “But all you want to do is put your time and effort into your missus.
"She’s even forgetting to ask how I am in a way, she’s dealing with it physically and mentally.
“It really is just about speaking to everyone about it. Some of my close friends have lost two, three babies. It’s so common.”
The 35-year-old also told host Lorraine Kelly about how his youngest child helped him to get back into writing music.
He told her: “All my songs had been about break ups or depression or too much partying and then you meet the woman of your dreams and have children and it's like how do I channel that?
“You're trying to put a bit of edge in your songs when you're the happiest you've ever been. But somehow out of having our new baba, Ennio, I was in the studio every day for a month.”
