Rick Monk has become the fifth casualty of the boardroom after being fired by Lord Sugar following a disappointing shoe task.
Monk failed to put his best foot forward when his team, led by Jackie Fast, were tasked with creating and selling a one-of-a-kind shoe.
Speaking about his exit, Monk said: “I feel disappointed to be leaving on this task.
“I was expecting Kurran to go and then he threw me under the bus. I think Lord Sugar has made the wrong choice.
“But it’s his decision and he’ll live to regret it.”
Monk was fired after Lord Sugar changed the format of the final boardroom by hauling the whole team back into the room despite Jackie choosing Kurran and Kayode.
During the task, Karren Brady said that Monk was “quite difficult when things weren’t going his way” while Lord Sugar said that his “instinct told him that he wasn’t right for the process”.
Monk clashed with fellow candidates Kurran Pooni and Jasmine Kundra throughout the task, leading Kundra to brand him “disruptive”.
And, speaking after his exit, Monk made it clear that Kundra’s “time wasting” had been “detrimental” to the task while reiterating that Pooni deserved to be fired.
Next week, the remaining candidates will be tasked with creating and editing a marketing campaign for a brand new budget airline.
