Tony Hadley has become the latest person to leave the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here jungle.

The Spandau Ballet singer lasted 22 days in camp, and said he was “so pleased” to be heading out of the show, leaving the company of George Shelley, Jorgie Porter, Kieron Dyer, Ferne McCann and Vicky Pattison.

Speaking to Ant and Dec after leaving the jungle, Hadley said: “It was a great experience, amazing. Absolutely amazing.”

He said that he was pleased to leave as he would be able to see his family properly before Christmas.

Labelled the “dad of the camp” by Vicky, Tony said that he was pleased to have lost weight while on the show.

“When I first came in I was a right porker,” he laughed. “You know what, it feels absolutely fantastic.”

As one of the celebrities who had frequent arguments with Lady Colin Campbell, Hadley insisted that the major dispute that arose when he refused to serve Lady C, Kieron and Chris Eubank as a bellboy was not due to a personal dislike of the aristocrat.

“it had nothing to do with who it was,” he explained. “It was just, I don’t wear bellboy hats.”

Hadley explained that the idea of being the trio’s servant was humiliating in a different way to the Bushtucker Trials, and that it “felt like that was one step too far”.

The singer backed Dyer as his favourite to win.

“He’s really come out of himself since all the stuff, he was a bit down,” Hadley said, referring to the sportsman’s threat to quit the show after a huge camp row. “He’s a really funny guy.”

With only five celebrities now left on the show, the series is drawing to a close on Sunday night.
