While much of the action in this week’s Game of Thrones came from Jon Snow’s battle against Ramsay Bolton, there were major moves in Meereen for Daenerys Targaryen too.

The Mother of Dragons not only cemented her title by burning the attacking Masters, but also had an intriguing conversation with Yara and Theon Greyjoy.

The duo had sailed across from Westeros to Essos in order to meet Daenerys and escape their murderous uncle Euron.

In a discussion rife with sexual tension, Yara stated her claim as the heir to the Iron Islands, and offered Daenerys 100 ships in return for her support.

Of course, the internet went wild for the two strong female characters getting along so famously – and in a mini-documentary from HBO, actress Emilia Clarke spoke about the ‘mild flirtation’ in the scene.

She even joked about Daenerys leaving her hunky Dothraki beau Daario Naharis for a jaunt with Yara.

“There’s like a little kind of like, ‘oh, there’s another badass chick in the place, ok’,” joked Clarke.

“There’s mild flirtation, which is exciting to say the least. I mean, get rid of Daario, bring on the ladies. Why not?”

Gemma Whelan, who plays Yara, also spoke about her character’s connection to Daenerys.

“I think Daenerys and Yara quite like the cut of each other’s jib,” she said.

However, Whelan has suggested that the pair’s partnership is more in a business area for now.

“We’re two strong women who have had very evil fathers, and I think we just want what’s rightfully ours,” she said. “I think [Daenerys] respects that, and in return [Yara and Theon] will respect what she wants and change our ways so that we can work together.”

There’s just a few days for fans to wait and see whether Yara and Daenerys will become even closer in the season finale.
