Declan Donnelly is reportedly set to present the Britain’s Got Talent live shows without his TV partner Ant McPartlin.

McPartlin was arrested and charged with drink driving after crashing his vehicle into two cars on Sunday. He later announced his return to rehab which could leave him unable to honour his commitment to the ITV talent show.

This weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Takeaway has been cancelled in light of the incident, with Donnelly set to present the final two shows alone.

According to This Morning showbiz reporter Gordon Smart, Donnelly will also be flying solo for the Britain’s Got Talent live programmes.

He told hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes: “It’s interesting you mention [other commitments] because Britain’s Got Talent is a good example of that.

“There are pre-records with Ant involved, but we’ve spoken to Simon Cowell’s people and what looks likely to happen is that Dec will go on, on his own when the show goes out in April.”

On Monday, ITV confirmed that Saturday Night Takeaway would not be going ahead this weekend, with Donnelly later confirming he will present alone.

In a statement he said: “Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead.

“We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that. Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series. Dec x.”
