Christopher Biggins was kicked out of the Big Brother house over a joke about Nazi concentration camps, it was claimed today.

The family favourite was axed from the show over “offensive remarks”, Channel 5 revealed yesterday in a shock announcement.

According to the Daily Star, the star made a remark about Nazi concentration camps while chatting to Jewish housemate Katie Waissel.

She was reduced to tears by the poor-taste comment, the paper reported.

However, a transcript of the conversation which has been circulating on social media is a fake, the channel said today.

Biggins’ agent told the Daily Mirror: "I can confirm that he would never intentionally cause offence.

"If something was said in jest which caused offence then I am certain that was not his intention. Biggins is a much loved and wonderful man."

Channel 5 has not revealed the exact details of what caused them to eject the bookies’ favourite.

Host Emma Willis said last night the events of his departure would be revealed in this evening’s show.

In a statement last night, Channel 5 said: “Big Brother has taken the decision to remove Christopher Biggins from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Since entering Big Brother, he has made a number of comments capable of causing great offence to housemates and the viewing public.

“Big Brother does not tolerate offensive language capable of causing widespread offence. Christopher Biggins has left the house."
