Last year’s Britain’s Got Talent competition saw magician Jamie Raven almost win the show.

That meant a spate of similar acts applying in 2016, of varying quality – but the most impressive seems to be Richard Jones.

After confusing everyone with his brilliant first audition, he once again baffled the judges and the audience at home with his second round of close-up magic.

This time around, Jones focused his routine on Amanda Holden’s biography.

Jones asked Alesha Dixon to choose a page number from the book, telling her to keep it secret.

He later produced the exact page from a bottle that was wrapped up on the desk the entire time.

As if that wasn’t enough, he asked Amanda to choose her favourite word from that page, which turned out to be ‘bottom’ – at which point Jones revealed that he had the same word burned onto the paper.

The performance earned Jones a standing ovation from the judges, who were shocked and stunned by the routine – and they weren’t the only ones.

Viewers at home were left scratching their heads at the outcome of Jones’ trick – with one calling it “the closest thing to real magic I’ve seen in ages”.

Will Jones’ latest brain-scratcher be enough to earn him a place in Saturday’s live final show? And could he leap ahead of Jamie Raven and win the entire thing? Stay tuned.
