David Walliams has fuelled speculation that magician Josephine Lee used a twin to create mind-boggling illusions on Britain’s Got Talent.

Hinting that the wannabe star was actually part of a secret double act, the judge appeared to confirm viewer speculation during Wednesday’s third live semi-final.

During her act, the Illusionist was helped into a box by three hooded figures, only to reveal herself as one of them moments later.

Despite admitting that he was impressed, Walliams was quick to remark: “Sisters are doing it for themselves.”

Viewers were quick to pick up on the hint, with one person writing on Twitter: “David Walliams blatantly giving away the fact Josephine Lee has a Twin Sister on #BGT ‘Sisters are doing it for themselves!’ Indeed!”

Others seemed to work out the trick themselves, with some spotting the fact that one of the hooded figures was wearing red lipstick.

“Anyone else see that one of the hooded figures was wearing bright red lipstick? it has to be twins right? #BGT,” one viewer posted.

Unfortunately for Lee, she didn’t make it through to Saturday’s final, losing out in the public vote to Tokio Myers and Ned Woodman.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the competition’s closing show would be moved from Sunday to Saturday to prevent a clash with Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert.
