Most powerful people in British theatre

Andrew Lloyd Webber has been knocked off the top spot in a list of British theatre's 100 most powerful people. For the first time in five years, the peer does not occupy first place in the rankings compiled by industry bible The Stage. Here's their top ten list..

1 David Ian - producer (Guys And Dolls, The Producers)

2 Sir Cameron Mackintosh - producer (Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady)

3 Andrew Lloyd Webber composer, producer, theatre owner

3 Howard Panter/Rosemary Squire - founders of Ambassador Theatre Group

5 Nica Burns/Max Weitzenhoffer - producers (Some Girls, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest)

6 Michael Grandage - artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse

7 Michael Boyd - artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company

8 Nicholas Hytner - artistic director of the National Theatre

9 Sonia Friedman - producer of The Woman In White, The Home Place

10 Bill Kenwright - producer (Scrooge)
