West End stars perform iconic lockdown version of My Shot from Hamilton

Five West End musical stars have come together to deliver a brand new rendition of My Shot from Hamilton.

Stars of & Juliet, Miriam-Teak Lee, Melanie La Barrie and Jocasta Almgill, teamed up with former Six queen Genesis Lynea and her In The Heights co-star Gabriela Garcia, to perform the song from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical.

Lee, who appeared in the original West End cast of Hamilton and played cover for all three Schuyler sisters, takes on the role of Alexander Hamilton in the video.

The video was created as part of The Musical Alphabet, a social media initiative set up by & Juliet actor Arun Blair-Mangat which celebrates musical theatre by having actors sing their way through the alphabet.

He and five other West End leading men sang their own version of Ex-Wives from hit musical Six at the beginning of the month. He said: “I wanted to create a place for theatre fans and the community to continue to get their theatre fix and stay uplifted amidst this uncertainty.”

Hamilton fans have more to look forward to, as a filmed version of the musical with its original cast will be released on Disney+ on July 3.
