Creators of Made in Dagenham seeking boy with an amazing voice

 
Opening in October: the Made in Dagenham musical, starring Gemma Arterton

The creators of new musical Made in Dagenham are looking for boys with brilliant voices to play Gemma Arterton’s son.

Boys aged 10 to 12 with dark hair are invited to open auditions in London tomorrow for the part of Graham O’Grady, son of Arterton’s character Rita. He is described as “a sweet-natured, bright scholarship boy from a tight-knit family”. Those auditioning must be able to sing the hymn Jerusalem in C major to “an excellent level”.

Producer Rebecca Quigley, of Stage Entertainment, said: “I am really excited to find the next young British star in the making.”

The show, inspired by the Dagenham Ford machinists’ strike for equal pay, opens in October at the Adelphi Theatre. Email verity@jessicaronane.com for details.
