Manic Street Preachers will play two arena gigs in Cardiff this December in aid of the NHS and its staff following the outbreak of coronavirus.

The benefit concerts will take place on December 4 and 5 at Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena, with the band announcing the first gig will be free for NHS workers and the second raising money for the health service.

The gig on December 4 will be free for anyone who works within an NHS hospital in the UK including - but not limited to - doctors, nurses, support workers, porters and cleaners.

Meanwhile the following night will be a concert to raise funds for the health service, with all profits going to NHS Wales.

Announcing the gigs, the band said: "We wanted to do something to show our appreciation, love and respect for the NHS and its amazing brave workers.

"One free show and one fundraising show seemed the best way for us to express our deep gratitude for all their heroic work.”
