Haim - Something to Tell You, review: ‘An unhurried comeback that gets the music right’

Comeback: Haim are back with their eagerly-awaited second album
David Smyth7 July 2017

Four-and-a-half years since they topped the BBC Sound of 2013 poll, Los Angeles sisters Este, Alana and Danielle Haim have enjoyed a No 1 debut album and squad membership with Taylor Swift, and can now be found wearing 400-quid trousers in their photoshoots.

They’ve taken so long to release a follow-up because they toured so much, and there are plenty of new songs here.

Little of Your Love is great fun, with its retro R&B swing. On tracks such as Ready for You and Nothing’s Wrong there are more electronic touches than before, making them sound more contemporary, while their interweaving voices still make the songs distinctively their own.

This is an unhurried comeback that has taken the time to get the music right.
