Love me, love my film

Written, produced and directed by Davide Ferrario, this intriguing low-budget film casts Giorgio Pasotti as a night watchman in Italy's premier cinema museum who spends the hours of darkness watching Buster Keaton films.

Eventually he falls for a pretty worker in a fast-food restaurant whose boyfriend is the leader of a gang of car thieves.

It's part gentle comedy and part homage to cinema and to the amazing Turin museum itself.

But the plot is less gripping, largely because Pasotti is not Keaton and Ferrario's hand-held camera doesn't always do justice to his subject matter.

It is, however, an original attempt by the director to make us love cinema as much as he does.
