Huge - review

Ben Miller's comedy is about comedy itself, notably two would-be entertainers (Noel Clarke and Johnny Harris) whose double act is constantly frustrated by showbiz duplicity and their own lack of talent.

Thandie Newton is good as an American agent who offers enthusiasm and drugs to her clients, and Miller appears briefly as himself. But this one looks like it's been shot on the hoof and written on a postcard (by Jez Butterworth and Simon Godley) and never really gets more than halfway towards its goal.

It's yet another of those British films with a good idea squandered because someone gives the go-ahead before the script is fully developed.
