Eleanor's Secret brings books to life

10 April 2012

This French animated adventure for children is directed by Oscar-nominee Dominque Monfery and designed by illustrator Rébecca Dautremer.

Released the day after World Book Day, it has a seven-year-old discovering the pleasures of reading when eccentric Aunt Eleanor leaves him nothing but a pile of old books. Since he can't read, this is not much good.

But the books are the precious originals of the great fairy stories and their characters come alive in front of him. Nicely done.
