A host of artists design clocks for children's charity art exhibition
Tick tock: artist Maggi Hambling's contribution to the Face Time exhibition

Face Time is an unusual week-long fundraising exhibition running currently at the Threadneedle Space, Mall Galleries. Sixty well-known artists have contributed either a clock or an original piece of work for sale at the exhibition to national charity The Art Room.

With artists including the Chapman Brothers, Yinka Shonibare MBE, Cornelia Parker and Antony Gormley, this exhibition is a fantastic show of support for the charity which offers therapy through the creative power of art to children and young people facing difficulties. Since its foundation in 2002, The Art Room has helped over 10,000 children via its soon-to-be nine studios in London, Oxford and Edinburgh.

One popular activity at The Art Room is making self portraits using clocks, hence the main focus of the exhibition. The charity’s patrons include TV broadcaster Jon Snow and, since January 2012, St Andrew’s History of Art graduate, The Duchess of Cambridge.

The exhibition ends on Saturday June 21. Admission is free from 10am-5pm and it is well worth a visit.
