David Bowie will be remembered with a tribute at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea where several artists have contributed work inspired by the star.

The singer, who died last month at 69 from cancer, was influenced by the London art scene throughout his career. Milly Girardot, from The Art Movement Gallery which commissioned the tributes, said: “Bowie was a musical hero to many and was mine since I was a teenager. He was unique in his conviction of striving to be true to his art and his brilliant artistic reinventions.”

The works include Atmospheres Of A Blackstar, by Alvaro Petritoli, created after his last album. Pett Level Ashes To Ashes, by Dominic Harris, is inspired by the video for the 1980 No 1 hit and includes references to the Thin White Duke and Lazarus.

The works will be on show at the fair at Battersea Evolution from March 10 to 13.
